Take your first step into childcare and learn how to support young children’s development. It is suitable if you are ready to work towards a Level 1 course and want to develop knowledge, confidence and practical skills in early years and childcare.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
You’ll learn about supporting children’s development, play and learning, communication, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, professional responsibilities and working effectively in early years settings.
Prosp What Will I Learn
You will learn face-to-face with support from your tutor through demonstrations, practical activities, discussions and individual or group tasks. Activities may include tutor input, case studies, reflective tasks and links to real early years practice. As this is a qualification course, you may also complete assessments, portfolio work or assignments as part of your learning.
Prosp How Will I Learn
You will work towards the recognised qualification: BTEC Level 1 Introduction to Childcare. Your tutor will explain the assessment requirements and support you to build the evidence needed during the course.
Prosp Qualification
You may progress to a Level 2 childcare course, volunteering, further study, or other training linked to working with children and families.

Please bring a notebook, pen and a folder for your course materials. Your tutor will advise you if any additional resources or access to a digital device are required.
