Course Overview

Course Overview
Tuesdays 6-7.30pm, discuss ideas for demonstrating more self compassion, including the importance of ‘self soothing’ and emotion regulation, and the benefits of being kinder to ourselves.
This course aims to help you develop a personal, self-compassion ‘toolkit’. This course was previously titled “Working Towards Self-Compassion” and has since been updated. The content of this course has been developed from ideas discussed in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT); however, please note, this is a learning environment not a therapy group. Content may be adapted as scientific research, theories or course requirements change. All content material is protected by copyright and owned by the content author. This course aims to help people who would like to maintain and sustain their health and well-being. It is not suitable for those experiencing a mental health crisis and not intended to replace any medical advice or healthcare services. If you have a trauma-related diagnosis, or a severe and enduring mental health consideration, you may wish to discuss this with your doctor, case worker, community mental health team, or the course tutor before enrolling. All attendees are asked to take personal responsibility for their own learning and well-being, both during and after each session. We ask learners to collaborate in a way that ensures a safe learning environment for the whole group and only take part in activities which feel right for them. No guarantee of any specific results is given or implied.
Prosp Is This Right For Me

Investigate six principles that help us focus on our well-being. Identify a helpful strategy for emotion regulation. This course may include guided meditation or mindfulness activities.
