Course Overview
Aims to bring bereaved people together to help navigate loss, through awareness and understanding. May also be useful to those who are helping others with a loss, Tuesday, 1-2.30pm
This course aims to bring bereaved people together in a learning environment, who want to gain skills in navigating grief. This course is aimed at people who would like to maintain and sustain their health and well-being. It is not a therapy session, is not suitable for those experiencing a mental health crisis and not intended to replace any
medical advice or healthcare services. If you have a trauma-related diagnosis, or a severe and enduring mental health consideration, you may wish to discuss this with your doctor, case worker, community mental health team, or the course tutor before enrolling. All attendees are asked to take personal responsibility for their own
learning and well-being, to collaborate in a way that ensures a safe learning environment for the whole group and only take part in activities which feel right for them. No guarantee of any specific results is given or implied.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
By the end of this course, learners will be able to: Consider what grief is, what helps and what doesn’t. Describe how society gets in the way of our grief. Examine what’s “normal” when you’re grieving. Identify what happens when grief gets ‘stuck’. List tools that can help us find our way through. The content of this course may be adapted as scientific research, theories or course requirements change. All content material is protected by copyright and owned by the content author.
Prosp What Will I Learn
Sessions introduce a mixture of theory and practical exercises. There may be written activities as well as the potential for learning through listening, reading, watching videos, asking questions and contributing to group discussion, as well as (where relevant) mindfulness and guided meditation. Book, app and video recommendations may also be offered during the course, which are optional to consider; always check
suitability before you invest. Learners are empowered and encouraged to participate where they feel comfortable, as appropriate, in a way that benefits their health and well-being.
