Embark on a fitness journey with our Level 1 course: learn sports fundamentals, health principles and wellness strategies tailored for active lifestyles and personal growth.
Welcome to “Introduction to Health and Fitness,” a foundational Level 1 course designed for beginners eager to embark on a journey towards a healthier and more active lifestyle. This course covers the core principles of health and fitness, including the importance of physical activity, nutrition, and mental well-being. As part of the first session, we ask learners to complete a short English and basic numeracy assessment, as you will be building a portfolio over the 12 weeks and will need good understanding to complete the written work. You will be supported throughout the course by your tutor and other learners.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
Unit A2: Developing a Personal Progression Plan: This unit will help you find out what opportunities are available to you and how to get to the next stage. You will carry out a self-audit, identifying what your strengths are and what you need to develop to be able to meet your progression goals. Unit SP12: Keeping Active and Healthy: In this unit, you will learn how physical activity, diet, smoking and alcohol affect health and sports performance. You will understand how to keep healthy and how to reduce the chances of getting some life-threatening diseases. You will feel more able to advise others on how they can keep active and healthy too.
Prosp What Will I Learn
You will learn mainly by using the computer to work on practical tasks; by means of question-and-answer sessions and demonstrations by the tutor. You will receive handouts to help you practice at home. As part of this course, you will need to access internet to use our online learning platform to complete course work, Google Classroom.

You will achieve the BTEC Level 1 Introduction to Sport.
