Wednesdays, 9.30am-12pm
This course is for those moving on from Beginners, wishing to develop and hone skills and learn new techniques and approaches. It will enable you to develop your individual potential, both technically and creatively using a variety of watercolour painting and drawing techniques. You will be introduced to new themes and approaches.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
New watercolour techniques and how to use other mediums with watercolour. Painting from life. Get to grips with both traditional and experimental watercolour approaches. Explore other watercolour artist’s techniques and composition. There will be themed topics throughout the course.
Prosp What Will I Learn
Primarily through practical painting and drawing activities, for example “wet on wet”, glazes, resist and creating your own mixed colours. Regular instruction and demonstrations of approaches and techniques. Individual one to one guidance. Regular group discussions as well as occasional group painting exercises.
Prosp How Will I Learn
You will not gain a formal qualification; however, you may request a Certificate of Attendance from your tutor.
Prosp Qualification
There will be a follow-on course in the summer term that you may wish to enrol on.
Prosp Next Steps
Watercolour paints, a paint palette, 3 clear water containers, watercolour brushes, A4orA3 300gm watercolour pad, masking tape, kitchen roll, a pencil and drawing paper rubber and pencil sharpener. The theme will be provided by tutor.
