Course Overview

Course Overview
Gives people who experience ongoing problems with pain the opportunity to explore things that may help (and those that don't)
Tuesdays 10-11.30am. The aim of this course is to consider options for maintaining a level of well-being while navigating pain experiences and fatigue. This course is aimed at people who would like to maintain and sustain their health and well-being. It is not a
therapy session, is not suitable for those experiencing a mental health crisis and not intended to replace any medical advice or healthcare services. If you have a trauma-related diagnosis, or a severe and enduring mental health consideration, you may wish to discuss this with your doctor, case worker, community mental health team, or the course tutor before enrolling. All attendees are asked to take personal responsibility for
their own learning and well-being, to collaborate in a way that ensures a safe learning environment for the whole group and only take part in activities which feel right for them. No guarantee of any specific results is given or implied.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
By the end of the course, learners will be able to: discuss the real nature of fatigue, what helps (and what doesn’t), explore the ‘four P’s' in creating a healthy “pain management plan”, consider the relevance of mindfulness and other integrated activities. The content of this course may be adapted as scientific research, theories or course requirements change. All content material is protected by copyright and owned by the content author.
Prosp What Will I Learn
Sessions introduce a mixture of theory and practical exercises. There may be written activities as well as the potential for learning through listening, reading, watching videos, asking questions and contributing to group discussion, as well as (where relevant) mindfulness and guided meditation. Book, app and video recommendations may also be offered during the course, which are optional to consider; always check
suitability before you invest. Learners are empowered and encouraged to participate where they feel comfortable, as appropriate, in a way that benefits their health and well-being.
Prosp How Will I Learn
This course does not offer a qualification. You may ask for a Certificate of Attendance, if you have been able to demonstrate evidence of your learning and met the course requirements.
