Course Overview
Gives people who experience ongoing problems with pain the opportunity to explore things that may help (and those that don't)
Thursdays 1-2.30pm. This course is focused on well-being while navigating pain and may be particularly helpful for people who experience problems with fatigue. Please note: This course is held online for the benefit of learners who are experiencing problems with pain and fatigue. This course is aimed at people who would like to maintain and sustain good mental health and well-being. It is not suitable for those experiencing a mental health crisis or with a severe or enduring mental health consideration. If you have a trauma-related diagnosis, you may wish to discuss this with the course tutor before enrolling. We ask all attendees to take responsibility for their own learning and only take part in activities which feel right for them.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to: discuss research-based steps for managing fatigue, list the four p's for healthy pain management, consider the relevance of mindfulness, create a personal wellness plan.
Prosp What Will I Learn
This course involves group discussion, so you’ll be encouraged to participate through listening, asking questions and contributing where you can. The sessions offer a mixture of theory and practical exercises; there may be written activities as well as the potential for learning through reading, video and suggested apps. Book and video recommendations may also be given during the course. Activities may include mindfulness meditation. The content of this course may be adapted as scientific research, theories or course requirements change. No guarantee of any specific results are given.

Learners will access the learning environment as well as reading materials and resources relevant to the course via “Google Classroom” so you will need a device with internet access; this could be a PC, Mac, Laptop, smart/iPhone, tablet/iPad. Key messages are included in the handouts where provided, but you may choose to bring a notepad and pen with you to each class in case you wish to make notes.
