Prosp Next Steps
If you have your own machine, please bring that with you if possible – it is better if you learn on the machine you are going to be using. If you don’t have one or are unable to bring it to the course, please let us know in advance so that we can supply one for you. Please bring the usual sewing kit: scissors for fabric and paper, tape measure, headed pins, sewing needles, tailor’s chalk, threads appropriate for your fabric, a seam ripper. You should also bring a square of natural cloth such as muslin or cotton sheeting to use as a pressing cloth. For the first session please bring about ¾ metre of plain cotton or cotton mix to practise on (you may have scraps at home). After discussion at the first session you may then decide to buy a recommended commercial pattern or one of your choice. The fabric and notions required by each of you will be discussed individually.
