Course Overview

Course Overview
For those who have completed a year of Spanish Improvers and feel ready to move on, Tuesdays 7-9pm
You should have studied Spanish for 40 – 60 hours in the recent past but you may have maintained your level of Spanish by spending time in the country and/or with Spanish friends. You may have started your journey on the Languages Ladder and recently completed the Breakthrough stage.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
You will improve your spoken and written Spanish and by the end of the course you will be able to: Understand the main points and some of the detail from a short spoken passage. Take part in a simple conversation using past and present and express basic opinions. Understand the main points and some of the detail from a short written text. Write a short text on a familiar topic, adapting language already learned.
Prosp What Will I Learn
The tutor will organise activities to practise speaking; writing, reading and listening to Spanish. You will sometimes work in pairs or in small groups with your fellow students or watch a DVD/listen to a CD. You may also learn via PowerPoint and the Internet. The emphasis will be on speaking and understanding so expect the main language of the classroom to be Spanish!
Prosp How Will I Learn
You will have the opportunity to climb the Languages Ladder by receiving a Grade Certificate in one or more skills (speaking, listening, reading or writing) and/or an end of stage certificate to show that you have completed Breakthrough, the first stage of the Languages Ladder, and that you have started on the Preliminary stage. The scheme is optional but many learners decide to take this route. Your tutor will give you more information.
Prosp Qualification
You will be able to continue your studies next term.
