This course is suitable for those who have studied approximately 40 hours of Italian or equivalent in the recent past and who wish to progress or maintain their level before visiting Italy.

To ask and answer a variety of questions. To repeat/say/understand a series of short sentences in the past and present. To give simple opinions and reactions. To understand and use numbers with confidence in various situations.

Open How will I learn?

You will be in a class of no more than 12 and will often work in pairs or small groups.
The emphasis will be on speaking and understanding the language so expect the main language of the classroom to be Italian! We will use a variety of activities to engage you in learning e.g. playing games, listening to CD Rom, watching video courses and video grammar. You will be asking and answering questions in the language and taking part in simple everyday conversations using role-play.

Open Will I gain a qualification?

You will not gain a formal qualification; however, you may request a Certificate of Attendance from your tutor.

After 30 weeks or three terms, you may choose to progress to an Improvers Course (or sooner depending on the progress you make).

Please bring a ring binder, paper and pen. At the first session the tutor will tell you about any books you may need to buy. Your tutor may suggest you buy an up-to-date dictionary.
