You will learn to understand, speak and read enough basic Italian to experience the fun and challenge of learning a new language. The vocabulary covered will be based on some of the everyday situations you might encounter on a first visit to Italy, e.g: greeting people formally and informally and introducing yourself; talking about where you live your nationality and your job and hobbies; ordering drinks and snacks in a café. By the end of the course you will be able to: repeat/say/understand basic phrases e.g. greetings; give and understand simple information concerning numbers and prices; understand short verbal instructions; recognize and read out basic words and phrases; use verbs to be, to have, to go in the present tense.
