Course Overview
Aims to bring bereaved people together to help navigate loss, through awareness and understanding. May also be useful to those who are helping others with a loss, Thursdays 6.30-8pm
This course aims to bring bereaved people together, to share their experiences and navigate their loss through awareness and understanding. This course will be particularly useful for those who may also want to gain skills to help others going through a difficult time. Please note this is a learning environment, not a therapy group. This course is aimed at people who would like to maintain and sustain good mental health and well-being. It is not suitable for those experiencing a mental health crisis or with a severe or enduring mental health consideration. If you have a trauma-related diagnosis, you may wish to discuss this with the course tutor before enrolling. We ask all attendees to take responsibility for their own learning and only take part in activities which feel right for them.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
During these sessions, we will: consider what grief is, what helps and what doesn’t, how society gets in the way of our grief, what’s “normal” when you’re grieving, explore what happens when grief gets ‘stuck’, consider tools to help us find our way through.
Prosp What Will I Learn
This course involves group discussion, so you’ll be encouraged to participate through listening, asking questions and commenting where appropriate. The sessions offer a mixture of theory and practical exercises; there may be written activities as well as the potential for learning through reading, video and suggested apps. Book and video recommendations may also be given during the course, and activities may include mindfulness meditation. The content of this course may be adapted as scientific research and theories change.
Prosp How Will I Learn
You will not gain a qualification but you may request a Certificate of Attendance from your tutor.
