Weaving with twigs to create interesting designs, Saturday 10am-1pm

Make a beautiful piece of art with simple materials in this activity. You will make a loom using a small branch, yarn and (if you want to) found objects in nature. After constructing the ‘loom’, you will weave a simple design using a variety of gorgeous yarns.

Open What will I learn?

How to set up a warp on a y-shaped branch. Weaving a simple design. How varying the thickness and/or texture of the yarn you use affects your weaving. How varying the tension of the warp affects the outcome of your design. Experimenting with different weave structures.
