Course Overview
The key ingredients to live a calmer, more resilient life. This may also benefit those who are experiencing anxiety, Tuesdays 6.30-8pm
To consider what stress and resilience really are, and key ingredients to live a calmer, more resilient life. This course is aimed at people who would like to maintain and sustain good mental health and well-being. It is not suitable for those experiencing a mental health crisis or with a severe or enduring mental health consideration. If you have a trauma-related diagnosis, you may wish to discuss this with the course tutor before enrolling. We ask all attendees to take responsibility for their own learning and only take part in activities which feel right for them.
Prosp Is This Right For Me
By the end of the course, learners will be able to: explore the purpose of stress and resilience, list different ideas for managing stress helpfully, consider ways to build a meaningful support network, describe a technique to monitor and measure your resilience, discuss key ingredients for resilient living.
Prosp What Will I Learn
This course involves group discussion, so you’ll be encouraged to participate through listening, asking questions and contributing where you can. The sessions offer a mixture of theory and practical exercises; there may be written activities as well as the potential for learning through reading, video and suggested apps. Book and video recommendations may also be given during the course. Activities may include mindfulness meditation. The content of this course may be adapted as scientific research, theories or course requirements change.

You will not gain a qualification but you may request a Certificate of Attendance from your tutor.

Prosp Next Steps
Key messages are included in the handouts where provided, but you may choose to bring a notepad and pen with you to each class in case you wish to make notes. Learners will also be given access to reading materials and resources relevant to the course via “Google Classroom” so you will need a device with internet access; this could be a PC, Mac, Laptop, smart/iPhone, tablet/iPad.
