You must have completed both the Beginners and Improvers Pattern Cutting Courses and have basic blocks for the bodice, sleeve, skirt and trousers.

Open What will I learn?

How to use the basic blocks to develop new patterns. How to construct a shirt/blouse with different collars. Learn how to add ease, pleats and gathers to a pattern. Learn how to make simple adjustments to commercial patterns.

Step by step practical instructions, one to one fitting advice and tip sheets.

You will not gain a formal qualification but you may request a Certificate of Attendance from your tutor.

Open Please bring

You will need to bring: 3 sharp pencils HB or 2H, Sharp coloured pencils, Paper Scissors, Tape measure, Metre Rule, Set square (a curved ruler would be helpful but not essential), Masking Tape, Pins, Tracing Wheel. Once your block is drawn out, you will need to make a toile in a plain cotton or calico to adjust the fit.
